drama

Can the World Cup -i.e. the FRANCE NATIONAL TEAM - get any more dramatic?

1. Yoan Gourcuff is getting the Mean Girl treatment from the rest of the squad except for his fellow Bordeaux players. The French captain acknowledges to not talking to Gourcuff so now the poor guy has to train and eat by himself.

"They don’t like him because he is not like them, he doesn’t like to go to the clubs, he listens to opera music, he comes from Britanny while most other players come from poor quarters, and he doesn’t go to prostitutes like the others, his mother is a teacher etc….

He is a nice guy, that is the problem."

2. Nicholas Anelka, striker for the French team and disliker of Gourcuff, has been fired from the France National Team after insulting Domenech (that stupid rat) and refusing to apologize.

3. Gourcuff and Ribery got into a fight on the plane after the Mexico match. Toulalan had to pull them apart. WHAT THE HELL?

This is all so messed up. I don't think I've ever been so upset at a World Cup before.

And since I am being so unproductive, some more World Cup sexiness to share:

The current love of my life (as if I could be any more obvious): Yoan Goucuff. Seriously, how can one man be so sexy? And HUMBLE? GAD! It's killing me.
So sexy that not even the sexy Kaka and C. Ronaldo can resist.
Bromance amongst the German NT.

world cup rant

Here's the thing about World Cup.

It has so many upsets and surprises that it throws all my predictions out the window. This happens every single day and at almost every single match (that I am able to catch, that is).

Let's talk Day 1. Really France, really? You couldn't afford to score one point? ONE LOUSY point? Why? We have Henry, Malouda, Ribery, Gourcuff and Anelka who are players of big clubs for Europe but they spewed out a lacklustered performance. You better do a good job tomorrow or else we're breaking up, France.

RANT STARTS HERE: Where is your cohesion, Le Bleus? WHERE?! Do you NOT remember tasting that close victory in 2006, hmm? How you guys made it all the way to the finals when everyone were scoffing at your inabilities? Didn't that feel good? Well do it again. AND YOU, Gourcuff, you were supposed to be the man of the hour but where were you when Anelka needed you? Braiding your gorgeous hair? Go show them some of the skills that we all know that you are capable of. France, you should give all your free kicks to Gourcuff because he is that good. I thought you should know. END.

Now the Australian vs. Germany match. What can I say other than, Germany, you guys have my respect. You are by for the most outstanding team at the World Cup. I don't think any of the other teams got the memo that we're playing at an international level here. Australia, aren't you an OK team? Shouldn't you have mustered up something, ANYTHING? I was crying on your behalf watching you being mopped by the Germans.

Spain, please remember that you are the Euro Champion 2008. Try not to lose anymore, OK?

Italy, what is it about you? I really want to like you. I really do, but why are you guys such little turds on the field. Stop falling over and crying every single time you are near another player. I didn't know that being tapped on the foot will cause such a major outcry. In other words, stop diving!

Speaking of diving, what the heck was with that stupid red card today? Really, Uruguay makes an offside kick and topples over without barely being touched and South Africa gets red carded?! I am so angry. This the reason why I am writing the hugest rant of my life (well hugest post).

And then there are all the draws? WHAT THE HELL!? What is everyone doing? No more ties and score some points.

Now, for the best part of World Cup so far.

My absolute FAVOURITEST game to watch was the one with Brazil and North Korea. Yes, North Korea is EVIL but it's not their fault - it's all that horrible little man KIM JONG IL. So after being disappointed time and time again watching these hoo-ha games, Brazil and NK finally demonstrated what a proper match ought to be like.

First of all, North Korea, you are so impressive - I love all your tactics, I love your footwork, I love your stealthiness, and I love your sportsmanship. Everyone predicted that you would dive left, right and center, but you didn't. I love how everyone got up right away instead of flailing on the field. I also LOVE the bromancy-ness and all the comradeship between the two teams. LOVE IT!

North Korea!

Brazil! This is what I mean about bromance. So cute!

too pumped

It's that lovely time again. Better than the Olympics, and better than any other sporting event. It's WORLD CUP! I am so pumped for this.

I'm kinda sad because I'm going to start working full time soon, which means missing out on matches.

But on another note, I found a new love.

Yoann Gourcuff is being called Petit Zidane for his impeccable futball skills. Four years ago, I declared that I was going to go into football/soccer hibernation until Theo Zidane was old enough to join WC because I was so devastated that Zizou was red-carded and France lost their WC Cup (I was more than positive that they were going to bring the cup home if not for that unfortunate event that I will not mention).

This is a direct quote from my blog after the WC 2006 finale game: "I will be hibernating until Theo (Zidane's son who looks like a mini version of him) becomes the next soccer legend. Gamjatang doesn't even seem all that delicious anymore."

Now I am so happy that Gourcuff is on the team and he's so awesome. It's just an added bonus that he's so sexy.

Allez Le Bleus!

He seriously makes my ovaries hum.

PS: I'm also cheering for England and Spain.

congratulations

Two mornings of waking up at an ungodly hours, and two convocations ceremony with the same music performance!

Congrats dolls for finishing school and hopefully becoming millionaires so we can indulge!

S's was on Tuesday.

And T's was today.

I'm so glad we're all done school. I don't think I can go to another convocation because they are so dreadfully boring.

Time to celebrate!

10 randoms

10. I enjoy vegging. It's a favourite hobby of mine and is very addicting. It seems like whenever I want to stop vegging, I find a new blog to read and my vegging lasts for hours longer.

9. I can't stand angst of any kind. Not the teeny-bopper-I'm-soo-deep-and-mysterious-compared-to-everyone or the broody-bad-boy-who-loves-the-girl-but-can't-be-with-her or anything remotely angsty. Not in books and not in movies, and especially when it's poorly executed. Even typing this up is making me angry.

8. I make friends based on how opened they are about the skeletons in their closet. The earlier they unload their crap on me, the higher the chances of us NOT be friends. This goes the same with potential boyfriends. I like people who are socially fun, but still private at the same time.

7. My current favourite (sort of) joke is 'Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong OK'. I'm laughing just typing this.

6. I've been in love with Louis Koo since I was 8 years old and I still am, which means I've been devoted to him for 15 years. This is what I call true loyalty, despite the fact that I am fickle about everything else.

5. In my head, I think I can speak fluent Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese and French but in reality, I can't. I do like to spit out random words in those languages to pretend that I do.

4. I enjoy playing house. Like pretending to cook and clean and lovely domestic stuff like that, but when it comes to the real thing, half of the time I can't be bothered.

3. I pretend that I have a British accent. I encourage those around me to speak the same way which makes for great fun.

* It appears that I pretend a lot.

2. I am glad Lee Min Ho got plastic surgery because then the Boys over Flowers producers wouldn't have noticed him and wouldn't have casted him to be Goo Jun Pyo and if he wasn't casted as Goo Jun Pyo then he wouldn't be in Personal Taste. If he wasn't in Personal Taste, then he wouldn't be wearing ankle pants sans socks and look sexy while doing it. What I want to say is that Lee Min Ho is a great actor and j'adore him.

1. I love harem pants and I can't wait to wear clogs.
